Today we are supposed to go to Slovenia. We take down the tent early because the temperatures are rising quickly. Dirk still has to tinker with the T-Ford so it will be a while before we leave. During breakfast Simon and Femke play a bit on the accordion. Simon and Femke take another dip in the pool. When the stuff is almost packed, Linde and I go to have a look. When Dirk is almost ready, we get ready to leave because we have to leave the campsite at 12 o’clock, we leave the campsite at 5 to 12.
After a bit of driving, we find a nice spot in the shade where we have a cup of coffee and where we finally want to put our sticker on the Landrover. Dirk thinks we have been driving ‘illegally’ with the follow-up team long enough. There is so much sun but suddenly I feel a drop, not much later it rains heavily that we decide to postpone the sticker moment for a while.
We take the highway towards the Slovenian border. A little over the border we find a nice restaurant where we eat a delicious late lunch/early dinner. Then we can do it tonight or with something small. We drive towards Postojna where we find a place to sleep in a beautiful youth hostel where there are all kinds of fun playthings for the children. We are assigned 2 triple rooms. Simon goes to Dirk and Trudy’s room and Dirk-jan, me and the girls in the other room. After we have brought our things upstairs, we finally do the sticker moment, and when that is done we go for a drink on a terrace in the village.
Tomorrow, we hope to visit a castle and caves here.
