Report May 9
By Trudy
After a night in a beautiful bedroom and a delicious breakfast we pack everything back in and go to the company where Deb works.
She shows us how and where truffles grow. Truffles grow on the roots of, for example, oak. We can not see them but special dogs smell where the truffles grow and are harvested there.
After this visit, Chris takes us to a road that leads us towards Karridale. It is a beautiful ride. Nice and green. In a lake we see black swans again and in a very tall tree you can hang a lot like that.
Here it is fertile soil and everything grows, for example, grapes and strawberries.
After 157 kilometers we arrive at a campsite on the ocean. Again in the south and we hear the surf, here come the 2 oceans together. The Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. First a beer and then we set up our camp. But ……… We lost the crankhandle of the roof tent. If the tent can not be pitched, Dirk and I do not have a bedroom.
Luckily, Dirk is very handy and turns a piece of iron and a tool into a garland in the LandRover’s workshop.
Awesome!!! It worked. Look …….. Dirk is building another bedroom.
